On tuesday we went down to the studio and used torches with colored rappers placed over the top of them to create different colors, we then turned the lights off and got into groups of three and worked together to create a wide range of images using the lights.
To get the full effect of the different colors we turned off the lights and held down the capture button on the camera, keeping the shutter open so that it would capture the picture perfectly and let go of the capture button when we had finished. I worked with Ben and Gareth, here are some of the pictures we created using the lights and ourselves...
I feel that this is one of the best animation projects we have had in photography so far because it was a really fun and creative project and i was quite pleased with the results at the end of the lesson.
I would like to do this kind of work using lights again but maybe go outside in the dark instead so that the lights have more of an effect when taking the picture and use a wider range of colored sweet rappers to enable me to create a bigger, better image.

I have searched on you tube for video games I have played on play station 3 that i thought contained really good animations. I also a posted a behind the scenes video for each game showing how the games are made and some of the people that put the whole game together.
I have learnt that it takes a lot more than i thought to make an animated game such as C.O.D mw3, this game has only just come out in the shops and has already sold really well, I think this is mainly because the graphics and animations are so good that it makes the game seem very realistic.
I think that the video games i have played and chosen to search on you tube then upload onto my blog are really good examples of some of the best animation features around because they contain a lot of different animations and even though they looked like difficult games to make they have been very successful and managed to sell really well.
I would like to have a go at using a computer to create my own animation, maybe a character from a film or game or something. I would like to do this just to see what it includes and what it takes to create a simple animation on a computer compared to a more complexed animation.

Thursay 3rd November 2011, Horror photo shoot...
In today's lesson we had a make-up artist come in and teach us all how to make fake wounds and scary looking faces for halloween using various materials such as face paint, gelatine, chocolate sauce and red food colouring for bloody wounds.
We then got into pairs and took it in turn to do each others make-up and make fake wounds. I worked with Corey, He didn't want much make-up putting on his face so i just mixed up a bit of red food colouring with chocolate sauce to make some fake blood and i carefully dripped it onto his neck in straight lines which made it look like he had been badly injured ready for the horror photo shoot.
Corey then did my make-up. He painted my face white and gave me two black eyes using a red and grey face paint and a sponge to apply it to my face. He also painted the middle of my lips black to add to the effect, This started to make me look quite scary. I then added some blood to one side of my mouth and let it drip down my chin a bit. Kate, the make-up artist then helped me create a wound on my head.
I really enjoyed doing this photo shoot and meeting the make-up artist because I felt like I really got a lot out of the lesson and I loved learning how to make fake wounds and fake blood.

Green screen animation...
We used a green screen when we took pictures. A green screen is a screen which you shine photography lights onto the screen which will then create the colour green and the colour then illuminates when you edit the pictures.
When i used the manaquin I moved it in different dance positions you would use in ballet, there wasn't any particular reason I chose to do this with the manaquin I just thought it would look good. I changed the way the manaquin was moving for each picture because it made the movie flow better when you played the images together one after the other.
I enjoyed going down to the studio and learning about a green screen and how to create a stock animation movie and make the effects of using simple pieces of equipment e.g the green screen, lights, camera and a manaquin look really good.
